Tetracyclines: The most effective treatments for rosacea are oral tetracycline antibiotics, with Doxycycline and minocyclines being the most effective. Topical medications containing metronidazole, sulfa, and azaleic acid are also helpful. There is a new gel containing brimonidine that should be available later this year that temporarily reduces the redness.
