Lithium: Lithium and Ritalin (methylphenidate) can be combined if you have clinically diagnosed mood disorder and adhd and as long as Ritalin (methylphenidate) is not causing mania.

Avoid combo: The anrectic and stimulating effect of stimulants may be inhibited by lithium. These medications may not be absorbed properly and could cause levels to be unpredictable. If you need a mood stabilizer and stimulant, speak to your prescriber to change one or possibly both these medications.

Lithium/Ritalin: Depending on the doses, lithium can slightly lower the potency of ritalin, (methylphenidate) which might lead to need for higher dose to exert response. Please consult your prescribing doctor.
