Antihistamines: Zyrtec & Claritin (loratadine) are both antihistamines & are of the same generation...They are supposed to be non-sedating. You should not give your child both of these medicines at the same time. They could be given on consecutive days, though, if you weren't sure which one works best. Give zyrtec one day & then give Claritin (loratadine) the next. This would be an acceptable alternative. Don't give both at same time.

Antihistamines: Both are third generation antihistamines and work effectively for allergies. However, zyrtec (cetirizine) may cause more drosiness. Do not take both at the same time.
