Hormone imbalance: If not sexually active, it can be immaturity of the hormone pathway. Periods can be irregular the first few years and it is not uncommon to have prolonged periods. However, if she is bleeding 3 weeks or more she should be seen to help stop it. Acupuncture and chinese medicine are also great for hormone imbalances.
