Many causes: There are many causes of follicles in the eyes. Follicles on the conjunctiva are an inflammatory response. They can be a normal finding or a response to irritants in the air, infections such as viral conjunctivitis, infections, medications, or systemic conditions. You should have your ophthalmologist examine your eyes to help determine the cause and if treatment is necessary.
