Check it out: Refractive error (nearsightedness, farsightedness, astigmatism) can naturally be different between eyes. However, there are many eye conditions, such as cataracts which can cause the refractive error of one eye to become significantly different than the other eye. See your ophthalmologist for a complete examination to look into the issue further.

With eyeglasses: Most eyes are within a small distance of each other in eyeglass power needs. If the numbers are small, and near the neutral point, sometimes one falls on the nearsigted side and the other on the opposite side. Correction of each usually does the trick. Rarely the difference is so great that correction is uncomfortable but this is pretty rare.

Monovision!: When one eye is corrected to see clearly at distance and the other at near, that is called monovision.
