A member asked:

I had tubal ligation in 2011. i had ablation in may 2013. i still have a period, but it's much lighter. do i need to take more birth control?

Not necessarily: You would have no need for birth control if your tubes are blocked. Hormonals could be used to stop your menses altogether, as a convenience, or a touch up ablation might finish the job.I would discuss this with the gyn who did the procedure to see what might be best for your situation.
