Likely, not inevitab: Hep c disappears on its own in about 20% of the people and they do not have the virus and are not infectious. In the remanning patients, their sexual partners are at risk of infection. Safe sex practices can reduce the risk. Effective treatments for hep c are available that reduce the viral load make transmission of infection less likely.
