Prevention : Otc benzoyl peroxide to start. If this doesn't work, then see your doctor or dermatologist for prescription medication. See http://www.Ncbi.Nlm.Nih.Gov/pubmedhealth/pmh0000030/. If there are permanent scars but no active acne, then see dermatologist or plastic surgeon for minimization of the scars.
