Toss that lens: Most patients forget that contact lens wear comes with a small but real risk of infection. Bad habits increase risk of corneal infection which can be severe and lead to ulceration, scarring, vision loss, and even loss of eye. To lower the risk of infection, wash hands, use sterile solutions, avoid sleeping in lenses, reusing solution, toss when their time is due, and have a regular examination.
