A member asked:

What to do if i have a sinus infection and strep throat. i can't taste or smell anything. what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Neti Pot: Your lack of taste and smell is likely related to your sinus congestion. The congestion blocks the cells that allow you to taste and smell. Sinus rinses with saline, using either a squirt bottle or a neti pot may help clear the swollen areas to allow you to smell and taste. A very short course of decongestants may also be helpful, but don't overdo it with these.
