Parasites doubtful: Parasites would usually be moving. Pinworms are small white worms that will move and crawl out of the rectum at night. Kids will have an itchy rectum and some discomfort at night. Corn silk may be seen as threads, but do not present a problem. Concerning parasites in the stool would usually cause bloody stools!

Stool: The threads in stool could be due to corn silk and yes you would be able to distinguish it from a parasite.
