Hormonal changes: Likely your period wasn't 'finished' per se. As we age there can be more and more fluxuations in our natural cycle. If you continue to have spotting when it's not your time of the month, say, mid-cycle, be sure to see a gynecologist and get checked out. This bit of spotting, though, likely is completely benign.
