Depends on ...: the nature. Jaundice in a majority of healthy newborn is temporary and often resolved by itself within a week. However, jaundice noticed in infants older than 2 weeks, children, and adults is often associated with medical, i.e., hemolytic diseases, hepatitis, or surgical conditions and therefore warrants urgent medical attention.
