Blood: The red spotting is likely blood and the brown is usually old blood. If this was off cycle for you then you may want to take pregnancy test to ensure no early pregnancy or miscarriage. Infections can also cause irregular spotting off cycle. If you are sexually active and symptoms persist then go see your doctor.
