When symptomatic: Probably judge by symptoms. If shrinking may not need surgery. If enlarging and causing symptoms of nerve compression needs to be surgically removed.Surgical dural repair is the definitive treatment for pseudomeningoceles. It should be undertaken in patients with symptomatic pseudomeningoceles. Pseudomeningomyeloceles can be easily monitored by mr imaging.

Pseudomeningocele: If you are nine months out from surgery and still symptomatic and not back to a normal functional status i would seriously consider a surgery to correct the defect.
