Yes. Get checked. : Continuous heartburn could be a sign of a serious problem. I feel that it is very important to not just assume that the pain is heartburn caused by reflux. There are many conditions that can cause similar symptoms. An egd, 24 hr ph testing and esophageal manometry offers the most complete work up. Remember that reflux is the main cause of esophageal cancer. It is not just a nuisance.
