How long for recovery of hernia repair using mesh?

Not long: Recovery from uncomplicated inguinal hernia will be very brief , in less than 4 to 6 wks , that is the minimum time that nature needs to lay down the collagen fibers to complete the healing process , in mesh repair which is tension free , can be active much earlier

Location matters: An inquinal (groin) hernia is usually a same day surgery with 3 or four days till driving and 1 week until feeling strong enough to go out or work all day. A laparoscopic repair may be a little quicker but the anesthesia is deeper and the recurrence rate may be higher. The studies are still in progress.
