Hormones: This sounds like you're having a period that's more painful and with more bleeding than you're used to. Typically these types of changes in one's cycles are caused by changes in hormones. You can treat today with ibuprofen, 600mg every 6 hours. Or see a doctor and discuss birth control as taking those hormones can lessen severity and length of menses.
