What is the immediate treatment for hepatitis b?

Depends: Most patients infected with hepatitisb will resolve the infection on their own without medical intervention. However, some patients do not. It is very important to be followed by a doctor to see if you "clear" the hepatitis b infection on your own or develop chronic hepatitis b in which case antiviral medication will likely be needed. Avoid alcohol and sex while your body is fighting the infection.

Hepatitis B: This all depends. 80% of adults who get hepatitis b clear it and do not have the chronic illness. If one has the chronic active form of hepatitis b then there are several medications that are designed to suppress the virus and keep it from further harming your liver. These medications and their effect must be monitored over time.
