Anxiety, meds ; ETOH: Meds labeled as "anti-anxiety" are called benzodiazepines ; are similar chemically ; functionally to alcohol. Used alone, over time they stop working as tolerance builds. Alcohol also can worsen anxiety, even if not drinking heavily. Best place to start is stop alcohol, see a therapist who specializes in anxiety, ; be evaluated for ssri med (often called antidepressant but also helps anxiety).
