For what length of time can a stage IV brain tumour go undetected before it kills you?

Variable: I will presume you mean grade iv, not 'stage', and that grade is the highest grade of malignancy in brain tumors. Often these don't become symptomatic until large, and death might be rapid if they are then untreated. Rarely, i see a case of someone who died without anyone knowing they had a brain tumor until the autopsy.
