A member asked:

Can you be born with a chronic yeast infection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Babies are born with a sterile gut and skin surface which begins to acquire germs from the environment within hours. After a few days, a baby will be colonized with a variety of skin and gut germs, including yeast, which can later enter irritated areas and be called a yeast infection. A human system is never completly void of yeast as it represents part of the normal gut germs.
