UTI? STD/STI?: Painful urination is worrisome for bladder or kidney infection. Associated symptoms might be frequent urination w/sense of urgency. If associated w/one sided back pain & fevers, sweats & chills, we think of kidney infection, too. In those who engage in unprotected sex and are not mutually monogamous, we worry about sexually transmitted diseases/infections. Bottom line, go see your family doc.
