Is it okay to have sex 4 weeks after giving birth or is it a must to wait 6 wks?

Sex and birth: If you had a c-section then take it easy. With normal vaginal delivery patients have reported having sex within a few weeks.

OK: Some say 6 weeks, some say 4 weeks, others may have a different recommendation. I have always recommended 4 weeks pelvic rest after a delivery, vaginal or cesarean - I have not had any patients have a problem because or resuming relations at four weeks. I think you would be ok, but if your doctor has said 6 weeks, youshould listen to him/her first.

Yes, go slow: If you feel ready at 4 weeks, then you may try. Go slowly and if there is any discomfort or pain, try different positions. If the discomfort persists, wait another couple weeks.
