Depends on variables: In the hands of a well trained technician and with the cooperation of the kid, it is relatively good. However, I have had parents decorate a nursery based on a "girl" scan and face a surprise when a boy came out.

Pretty accurate: The sonogram at 20 weeks is very accurate if the genitalia are seen. Sometimes, depending on the position of the baby, the genitalia may not be seen though.
