Yes: Adenoids being enlarged is a prime reason of nasal congestion in children. It can also increase runny nose and issues with ear infections. Adenoidectomy is one of the most common surgeries performed in the us every year. If you are asking about an adult, then the adenoids are very unlikely to be the culprit. In grownups, allergies and enlarged turbinates or septal deviation are more common.
