Impaction: Assuming no other issues, it's certainly possible for an impaction to allow diarrheal stool to leak by only to be followed by constipation again. Just to be safe, talk to your family doctor about whether a colonoscopy is warranted, especially if you've had unintended weight loss, bloody or tarry stools, ribbon flat stool or pencil thin stool.

Yes: It is possible to have diarrhea due to fecal impaction. Further more treating the diarrhea may lead to constipation. May need a rectal examination.
