See below: Your child may have colic which is defined as unexplained crying for more than 4 hours a day. It is most often worse in the evening. It is a developmental process related to the immaturity of the gut and development of the nerve plexus in the gut that controls movement and it will resolve 95% of the time by 3 mo. Historically, it is worst between 1-2 mo and then improves. Patience is best med.
