Not really a period: You have abnormal uterine bleeding. Causes can be benign like polyps, or hormone imbalances, or thyroid disease. There can be underlying cancers. You should see your gyn and they can do an endometrial biopsy to rule out most tissue causes. If normal then they can treat hormonally. You are likely entering perimenopause.
