It's on the low side: But falls within the normative range for an adult. Total WBC count is not necessarily the most important or informative parameter to focus on. There are several different types of white blood cell, each with unique functionality, that in combination comprise the totality of our cellular immune response. Each cell type has a normal range. More important is the infection history of the patient.
