Unusual for: Young men to have "internal bleed". Root cause need to be solved (ulcer, polyp, erosive esophagitis, mallory-weiss tear). Going from HGB of 7.3 to 12.6 is quite a great leap. Your iron is fine. It takes time, and many do very well at 12.6. If it remains as low in 6 months, call back. It takes 3 months to re-cycle your blood cell component volume. Your oxygen needs will limit the natural stimulu.
