Ask her: That could be a bad sign or just some obsessive behavior. You may have to confront her about what they are for, whether she has any desire or plans to hurt herself, and figure out what other supports you can muster. If there is any plan to hurt herself you must get her on phone with her doctor or drag her to er.

High risk situation: That sounds very concerning and it would benefit from careful and sensitive exploration by a mental health professional. The medications of buspirone, naproxen, Propranolol and nortriptyline could be lethal in overdose. The nortriptyline and the Propranolol would be particularly dangerous when taken in excess. Consider recommending that your friend think about getting help.

You are correct: Stock piling old prescriptions is never a good idea and dangerous, but it is important to assure that the individual is not doing so as a method to commit suicide!
