Get re-examined: It depends. Achilles tendonitis pain in the back of the heel, are you sure that's all you are dealing with? Get re-examined. Xrays can infer position of soft tissue but mainly highlight bone. To examine the achilles, an MRI would be warranted to check for damage - even a longitudinal tear which can be very subtle but result in lingering pain.

See a podiatristImmm: Achilles tendiniitis doesn't disappear. It requires rest and healing. Continuing to exercise will worsen it both in the short and long term. How do you know it's achilles tendiniitis? Has it been evaluated by a podiatrist? Immobilization is the usual treatment for achilles tendiniitis, for about 2-3 months. Continuing to irritate the tendon can cause rupture, then surgery & longer healing time.
