A member asked:

Is retinol 0.9% weaker, stronger or even with the strength of tretnoin 0.04% ( retin a (tretinoin) micro). will retin a (tretinoin) micro 0.04 % make a difference on my face?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Retinol vrs Retin A (tretinoin): Significantly less people respond to retinol creams than to retinoic acid [tretinoin, retin a], and the degree of response tends to be less too. In theory, you should be able to apply retinol to the skin, wait till it gets converted to retinoic acid, however the conversion rate is low and varies greatly among individuals.
