Can gaining weight make you ugly?

If your are: Incredibly skinny - i suspect that gaining weight could give a more wholesome appearance. Beauty & ugly are in the eye of the beholder. Don't know your gender. But some prefer a rubenesque look. The emphasis on being skinny has become unhealthy in our society. By the same token, obesity rates have risen significantly in the us (esp for children).
