Bacterial overgrowth: Sewage is a new one for me. Usually dead fish, asset the risk of being politically incorrect. The odor is produced by amines emitted by the anaerobic (non oxygen consuming) bacteria that tend to overgrow when the vaginal environment ph is high or basic. The replace the"good" bacteria, lactobacillus. This happens with sex and around a woman's period. Treatment is easy but recurrence is common.
