I want to know my options for treating childhood brain tumors?

Depends: There are a number of different types of tumors, requiring different therapies or combinations of therapies. They include surgery, radiation and chemotherapeutic regimes. Some grow so slowly, they are simply watched over time. And some unfortunately are incurable. If you need more specifics, you need to consult your doctor.

Treatment depends on: As a general pediatrician, i would defer entirely to the recommendations of pediatric neurosurgeons and oncologists.

It depends: There are many types of childhood brain tumors. Some are very aggressive, but many are not. Treatment usually involves some combination of surgery, chemotherapy, and perhaps radiation therapy. The role of each depends on the specific tumor type. Having the patient treated by an oncologist or neurologist with experience in childhood brain tumors is an important step in understanding your options.

See NCI site...: For a good overview of childhood brain tumors (and all other types of pediatric and adult cancer), the national cancer institute provides an excellent resource for patients and health professionals. See: http://www.Cancer.Gov/cancertopics/pdq/treatment/childbrain/patient.
