Yes: Higher hormone (estrogen) content birth control pills tend to cause thicker uterine lining while lower hormone pills cause less. So when switching from high to low, you have less "support" for thick lining which is then shed. In reality, any change in birth control pills can lead to spotting. Best to stick w/bcp for 3 months to allow for adjustment (if you can wait). Otherwise, chat w/your doc.
