Do i need to report congestive heart failure as a long-term health condition, or does it go away after being treated?

Long term: Unusually it does not go away. Except e.g. After a small heart attack or angina the heart gets weak (CHF) but a coronary balloon/stent could restore the strength. Also, in viral disease causing myocarditis (inflammation of heart muscle), the heart may recover. Usually if you still have edema and taking water pills, you still have it. For a specific condition consult your doc.

Possible: CHF can resolve if the underlying abnormality causing the CHF can be fixed. CHF can be the result of heart muscle dysfunction, valve dysfunction, pericardial dysfunction, or even a kidney abnormality. If the underlying abnormality can be repaired, such as valve replacement or recovery of kidney function, CHF may resolve.
