When a woman has aplastic anemia, what does it mean?

Aplastic anemia: Is a blood disorder in which the body's bone marrow doesn't make enough new blood cells. This includes red blood cells, platelets, and precursors of the various white blood cells. If your bone marrow can't make enough new blood cells, many health problems can occur. These problems include irregular heartbeats called arrhythmias, an enlarged heart, heart failure, infections, and bleeding.

Bone marrow failure: Aplastic anemia means the bone marrow is not make the cellular components of blood. White blood cells which fight infection, red blood cells which carry oxygen, and platelets which help stop bleeding. It requires therapy such as immune suppressing medications or a bone marrow transplant. It is a very serious disorder that needs to be evaluated by a specialist immediately.
