Probably: Plasma donation does result in some fluid shifts during the procedure, but i don not think that would be a big concern relative to the vp shunt.

Not sure why: Donating blood is an outpatient procedure. Placing or revising a shunt is a sterile procedure where nothing else should be simultaneously done to reduce infection rates
