Yellow vomit: Sounds like you may have vomited up some bile. Bile is the fluid stored in the gallbladder that helps the body digest fats. It is a very bitter tasting substance. If it doesn't happen again - probably nothing to worry about. If it occurs again you might want to get it checked out with a routine visit to your doctor.

Maybe important: Vomiting is the body's way of expelling something bad. The yellow liquid is bile which comes from the gall bladder and enters the intestine below the stomach and the bad taste is bile and acid from the stomach. Whether this is a minor upset or important depends on the context: what is your age, what and where you have eaten lately, any alcohol, any abdominal pain, fever and whether it continues.

Likely normal: What you describe sounds like normal abdominal bile acid that comes up when somebody vomits. If you are having a lot of this you should definitely be evaluated for reasons causing it, such as heartburn, ulcers, gallbladder problems or even infection, among other problems.
