Dysmenorrhea: Is due to faulty controls of the system in the lower part of the brain. Commonest cause is poor diet since it affects these controls, especially all the so called "goodies".

If this is a chronic: Problem, it is important to see your gynecologist to rule out underlying medical causes. See that you already use ibuprofen. Additional tips: avoid salt, caffeine, chocolate & alcohol. You can use a heating pad (don't get burned) or warm shower/ tub soak. Acupuncture is excellent for this purpose. Try to be physically active every day. Sipping on warm green or chamomile tea can reduce cramps.
