Small amount blood: Some women will spot when started on birth control pills. It sounds like you are passing a small amount of blood from the lining of the uterus plus mucus. Given that you got bcp to regulate your periods i think you're more likely to spot the first month or so. It should resolve. If not check with your doctor. You might need a different bcp.
