What's the best treatment to get rid of esophageal varices?

Liver transplant: Often esophageal varices are result of liver diseases/cirrhosis. There are surgical procedures such as shunts, clipping/tying them off etc..But the best treatment is treating the cirrhosis...Namely a liver transplant. Consult doc. Good luck.

Can not: Oesophageal varices are enlarged submucosal veins that develop secondary to portal vein hypertension. Operations to decompress the portal vein system into the vena cava or the left renal vein have been developed as well as interrupting the varices from the portal system. Consult hepatologist and portal surgeon.Liver transplant can eliminate portal hypertension.
