Bruising: True bruises will only last no more than 2 weeks. If yours has been there for a while, you want to get it checked out.

Is it a "Bruise": Bruising is considered an injury, usually from trauma, that results in a hemorrhaging (leaking of blood) into soft tissues. The blood usually in diffuse and purple, followed by a changes to yellowish green and less painful. If an hemorrhage is deeper into the tissues or does not stop bleeding then more significant tissue damage may occur. This may be due to a systemic disease.
