Solar Purpura: Age and sunlight weaken the dermis of our skin over time. Blood vessels that travel in the dermis are more easily disrupted if they are agitated. Try dermamend otc lotion available at cvs to treat these lesions.

Probably are: They are likely microhemorrhages due to the aging skin. The damage to the skin (loss of collagen is just one) from sun exposure is cumulative and thus one's skin acts like the tire on a car- the more mileage, the less tread. Thus the more sun exposure, the thinner the skin and you end up having bruises and blood spots from even minor trauma. Be sure to use sunscreen on all exposed areas.
