Caution: Very careful monitoring by your obstetrician, and a planned cesarean section in most cases.

Placenta previa: A placenta previa is diagnosed by ultrasound. The placenta covers the entire mouth of the womb (the cervix) or part of it. Bleeding can occur from the placenta. Because the placenta is blocking the cervix, the fetus cannot be born vaginally. It is dangerous for the mother and the fetus. The fetus is born by cesarean section.
