Many possibilities: Often but not always associated with an infection; can be bladder, kidney, vagina, prostate, testicular or limited to the urethra. Some std's can cause this as well as trauma, sexual activity and even vigorous athletics. A few drugs and herbs can cause urinary discomfort, and rarely obstruction. If associated with blood, foul odor or air passage, or if persisturgent medical evaluation is advised.
